Dust Collector at a Food Manufacturing Plant
Dust Collector at a Food Manufacturing Plant
Good food demands good filtration. Filtercorp supplied a new dust collector for a major food manufacturing plant, complete with explosion venting to keep the emissions level down.
Filtercorp and this particular food manufacturer have been working closely together for a quarter of a century. During this time we have been able to supply an extensive range of products, services and know-how to make their manufacturing processes cleaner and more efficient. Most recently supplying Wet Scrubbers that were essential as the product and process is humid and damp.
After touring the factory on this particular occasion, we were able to gain a greater understanding of this manufacturing process and although we were already impressed by the product flow - which starts on the top floor and ends with packaging at the bottom, we were able to offer solutions to make this process even easier. The first BFM Connector supplied in New Zealand is still running perfectly on a sifter, and connectors were in place throughout and the company was keen to further enhance their production processes.
For example an existing dryer line that had been in operation for more than 10 years was making use of a mechanical separation unit for filtration of the product on the exhaust air side. As is usually the case with mechanical separation devices, they are normally only capable of taking out the larger particles with smaller particles passing directly through the system.
After airflow testing was carried out on site we were able to custom design and supply a solution for a new dust collector, which was successfully supplied complete with explosion venting, bringing the emissions down to an acceptable level.
