A visit to the Royal New Zealand Navy, Devonport Naval Base

Last month, FMANZ members in Auckland got a taste of what it's really like to be at sea with an After 5 visit to the Royal New Zealand Navy's Devonport Naval Base.
Filtercorp sponsored this behind-the-scenes look at Devonport's Naval Base, a self-contained community which hosts training & support services for ships and navy personnel.
The event took place on the 8th March 2017 commencing with a welcome presentation and proceeded despite the rainy weather, with hard hats, steel capped boots and high viz jackets provided.
The base encompasses accommodation facilities, health and social services, sports facilities, childcare, the Navy marae, chapel and library, dry dock and a dewatering plant.
